Wedding Band Auckland

Band Bio

Two musicians.  Two guitars.  And a whole lot of fantastic live music!

Dragonfly are Auckland’s favourite acoustic duo for weddings, as well as THE most popular live band for those seeking a Waiheke wedding band.  From soft background music (Elton John, Crowded House, REM) through to energetic rock music to get the crowd on their feet (Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Brown Eyed Girl, Pearl Jam) and everything in between, Dragonfly play music that works perfectly at weddings.

As well as playing all over Auckland, Dragonfly are “The Waiheke band” that everyone is talking about. They have played at Waiheke weddings at venues such as Mudbrick, The Estate, Cable Bay and Stony Ridge. They offer an incredible “Waiheke Island package” which includes a fantastic performance at your reception, top notch sound and lighting equipment that won’t be too loud for Waiheke venues (which are often limited with sound restrictions), and all their travel expenses.  Have a listen to the sound samples, or check out our videos and see why more people are booking Dragonfly for their Waiheke wedding than any other band!

They’ve played for the All Blacks in Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin (Lions Tour 2005). They’ve played on the top of freezing snow-capped mountains (Queenstown, winter 2004).  They’ve played at just about every winery on Waiheke Island, as well as amongst the sun drenched vines of central Otago and Arrowtown.  There are few places left in NZ that Dragonfly haven’t performed!  Get the best acoustic band in town - get Dragonfly.

Thanks so much to Dragonfly!!! It is so true what people say about how music makes an event, and Dragonfly certainly did this for us. I saw every single one of our guests get up at some point during the night and have a dance, and we had so many different sorts of people at our wedding. Most stayed up the whole time and danced every set away. They were a great presence at our wedding, a lot of fun and provided endless hours of great music. They not only had a fantastic playlist, but they were incredible musicians too. They fit right in with our theme and provided a relaxed and fun atmosphere. I would definitely recommend them for any event without hesitation. Can’t thank you enough Dragonfly, you helped make our day very special!

Just wanted to drop you a mail and thank you guys for the set on Saturday night. You had rave reviews from the guests and I think you were perfect for the venue. Cheers Martin Quinn
  • Sharon and Paul - Wedding 4 January 2009
Just a quick note from us to say thank you so much for making our wedding (on 18 January) such an enjoyable day. Your music was a big part of the terrific atmosphere that we hugely enjoyed on the day, and we have had loads of comments from our guests about what a great sound you guys had and what a great job you did. Thanks also for learning that song for us. We will be recommending you to all our friends who get married in Auckland! Although most of them were at the our wedding so will know firsthand how good you are.
