Band Bio

Foxymoronz is one of Auckland’s finest professional & contemporary covers bands, playing a varied repertoire of top 40’s music & classic tunes.  The band’s line-up consists of five professional session musicians who have played for some of New Zealand’s top recording artists; together they have joined forces to create a unique synergy of high calibre musicianship & performance to bring you, Foxymoronz. 

Sale Leilua is a session bassist & tutor with many years of experience. He has recorded for and toured internationally with artists such as 4DG & Grace Ikenasio. Sofi Alexander-Pua is on drums & has mastered the extraordinary talent of playing the keyboards & drums at the same time, a skill that must be seen to be believed! Sofi took out 1st place in the Adult Section of the Music Works Auckland Drum Competition at the incredible age of 14. 

Justin James is on the keyboards; a multi-instrumentalist playing for such artists as Annabel Fay.  Nat Pua is the band‘s guitarist & has played for the likes of multi-platinum recording artist, Nesian Mystik at events such as Big Day Out 07 - 2009. The band is fronted by the sultry, soulful vocals of Joan Corbett; runner up Miss Tonga New Zealand 2010, Joan has done session work for & toured with the likes of Sweet & Irie and also FLEP.

Foxymoronz’ set list is varied and versatile, covering many genres & eras, guaranteed to satisfy the most diverse of audiences. The band use professional sound & lighting equipment to set the right atmosphere for any function & because the band utilise a professional sound engineer, you can enjoy a high quality sound production.
